We offer a remanufacture and return service for your electric power steering rack. This listing is specifically for the Audi A5 (8F, 8T) manufactured between 2011 and 2017.

Our remanufacturing process will recover over 95% of the units sent to us. This includes units with water ingress. We do not charge for the initial inspection.
On the rare occasion that we cannot remanufacture your steering rack, we will be happy to assist you in attempting to source a replacement unit.
How our remanufacture and return service works:
Remove the steering rack from your vehicle.
Remove the track rod ends, heat shields and any other ancillary parts that may be fitted. Keep these in a safe place for refitting when your steering rack is returned.
Wrap the steering rack with a protective material, we use bubble wrap. Pay particular attention to the plastic plugs and sockets. These are the parts that are most likely to get damaged.
Put the steering rack in a sturdy box packing around it to stop it moving.

Ship the steering rack to us. You can do this online, there are many companies offering this service. We get regular deliveries from DHL, DPD, FedEx, Parcelforce and UPS.
You will need the measurements of your parcel, the length, the width, the height and its weight.
When we receive your steering rack we will be in contact, so please ensure you include your contact details.

Our remanufacturing process:
When we receive your steering rack. The unit will be inspected and tested to confirm it is suitable for remanufacture.
The unit is completely stripped to its component parts.
Components are cleaned using our specialised equipment, this brings them back to an as new finish. This is especially important for units with water ingress.
All mechanical components are inspected, any that are found to be outside our stringent standards are discarded and replaced.
The ECU undergoes specialist examination, repair and testing. When completed it is programmed with the latest Audi software.
During reassembly new bearings are installed and the drive belt is replaced.
The completed unit undergoes a full road simulation test. This takes the unit well beyond normal operation conditions to ensure it is mechanically and electronically in 100% working order.
The unit is painted to protect it from corrosion and is etched with a unique build number.
The unit is now ready to install with no further coding or programming required.
