What does 'Exchange' mean

The short answer is, we need the old unit that has been removed from the vehicle returned to us.

The return is free of charge, please see our FAQ ‘How to return your old unit’.

Remanufacturing can only work if we have a supply of old units. This means it is very important that we get the old unit from your vehicle so we can remanufacture it and keep this supply going, just as we did with the unit that we may have supplied to you.

How can I place an order?

Placing an order through our website couldn’t be easier. Simply use the ‘part finder’ and choose your part, add it to your basket, and follow the checkout steps. What payment methods do you accept?

You can pay with credit or debit card by following the checkout procedure. Remember if you are not sure about which part to order you can give us a call on 0191 4143730, our staff will be happy to help you.

If you want to order over the telephone, you can pay by credit or debit card or we can send you an invoice with a payment link, you simply input your card details to pay.

If you want to collect the part you require, you can pay by cash or card.

Can I amend or cancel my order once it’s placed?

Yes you can. Please call us on 0191 4143730 and one of our staff will help you with this.

Do prices include VAT?

Unless clearly stated all prices on this website include VAT. We will supply an invoice with your purchase which has VAT separately displayed.

Do I get a VAT invoice?

Yes, an invoice with VAT separately displayed will be supplied with your purchase.

Do I need to create an account to place an order?

No, there is no need to create an account to place your order.

Product compatibility

How do I find the part I need?

The easiest way to locate the part for your vehicle is to use our ‘part finder’ on the home page.

The quick way to the ‘part finder’ is to click on the ‘NORTHCASTLE’ logo at the top of the page.

You’ll need to know your vehicle’s information, manufacturer, model and the year it was made. Input this information using the dropdown lists and click show products. You will need to know which component you need: steering column, steering pump or steering rack. Click on the component you need to get all the details.

On some occasions there will be more than one component showing. This is usually due to the year you have chosen being a change over year, when the model has been updated. If this is the case send us your vehicles registration number and we will be happy to help.

It is important that when you find the product you require that you scroll down to the compatibility table, this will show any variations that may exist.

Shipping & delivery

What shipping service is used?

We ship all of our orders on a 24 hour service.

Deliveries are made Monday to Friday. This means orders shipped on Friday will be delivered on Monday, excluding bank holidays.

Other services are available at an extra charge. These include next day delivery before noon and Saturday delivery.

Deliveries to some areas will take longer, these include: Scottish Highlands and Islands, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight and Northern Ireland.

Unfortunately, we can cannot guarantee these delivery times. Once the parcels are collected by the carrier we are in their hands. From time to time the carriers have unforeseen issues which impact the planned delivery date.

What should I do when I receive my delivery?

Inspect the box. If you find the box has been damaged in transit, take some photographs showing the damage before you open the box.

Once the component has been unboxed check that it has not been damaged in transit. Your invoice and any applicable fitting instructions will be in the box.

You need to keep your invoice safe. If you contact us, we will normally ask for your invoice number so we can locate your purchase quickly.

Please ensure the fitting instructions are passed to the person fitting the component.

Remember we need the old unit returned after it has been removed from the vehicle, so ensure you save the box and the packaging material.

Core returns & warranty

How to return your old unit

If you purchased an item which was sold on an exchange basis, this would have been either ‘Exchange surcharge’ or ‘Exchange warranty activation’ we require the old unit to be returned when it has been removed from the vehicle.

To do this, securely package the old unit in the box the new item arrived in. Use the packaging materials included to protect it.

When the parcel is ready let us know by either emailing us at mailbox.northcastle@gmail.com or call on 0191 4143730. Please have your invoice number available.

There are two options for shipping the parcel:

  1. We can send you a free of charge prepaid parcel label. Simply attach this to the parcel and drop it in at any Post Office.
  2. We can arrange for our carrier to collect the parcel. Someone will need to be at the collection address all day on the day of collection. We are unable to give a time when the collection would be made.
